Finding a job is tough these days, especially if your rec-
ords say you are dead. Unemployed driver Marcio Freitas da
Silva of Brazil discovered this when he tried to find a job.
The problem came in when another man of the same name and
age died three years ago, coroners wrote the names of the
living da Silva's parents on the death certificate. "It's
a humiliating situation when others make mistakes and I have
to prove that I'm alive," da Silva said. He had been told
that a dead man "cannont drive vehicles on federal high-
ways." Although the civil registry office has revitalized
da Silva, most government offices have not yet received the
new documents.

An unsuspecting chicken named Amelia was harnassed to 100
helium balloons and sent aloft last Saturday in San Fran-
cisco by an anonymous pranster. Amelia wafted into a tangle

place by forming his gloved hand into the shape of a gun. A

finger under a jacket or anything. Not fooling the pharmacy
owner one bit, he bravely wrestled with the suspect and ripped
off his mask. The accused would-be robber ran away and was
arrested a short time later. After having his mask torn off,
he was easy to 'point' out.

In August 1999, Lori Lynn Lomeli set a record by spinning 82
Hula Hoops at the same time for three full revolutions.

Steve Fletcher holds the record for the largest gum wrapper
collection. His collection has 5300 gum wrappers from all
across the world.

The largest number of children born to one woman, who was a
Russian peasant, is 69.

The longest kiss on record lasted 30 hours and 45 minutes.
Dror Orpaz and Carmit Tsubara recorded it on April 5, 1999
at a kissing contest held in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The smallest man ever was Gul Mohammed (1957-1997) of India,
who measured 1 feet, 10S inches.

The tallest woman that ever lived was Zeng Jinlian who was 8
feet 2 inches tall of China. She died at the age of 17.

The world record for donut eating is held by John Haight,
who ate 29 donuts (52 ounces) in a little over six minutes.

The world record for finishing the Rubik's cube is 16.5 sec-
onds.

The world record for time without sleep is 264 hours (11
days) by Randy Gardner in 1965.
