Normally, you need a main method in a Java class if you want to run that class from the command line. However, there is a little trick that allows you to run one without a main method:

The reason this works is that static initialization blocks get executed as soon as the class is loaded—even before the main method is called. As soon as the block exits, it will look for the main method. When it doesn't find it, it throws an exception—so the statement exits the program before the exception is thrown.

As Joe Winchester has written in his article Java Desktop: The Usability Paradox i have seen such problems too and no rescue in sight. The main problem is, upfront there is a lot of commitment to a renovation or new implementation of a system, by the management. But very fast, and for a 5 man year project 2 month is very fast, they tend to say, why isn't that ready right now, we pushed up the date, and want to go online in about 6 month. And if you say, no way we are on the workload limit. They either say, need more staff (which takes time to introduce to the project, and delay even more) or cut down functionallity. And than we have The Usability Paradox.
If the project goes online with this functionality the usage statistics do not attune with the prediction and the project will either be cancled or it would be forgotten about it, the staff disposed, and another unusable project is creeping around.

Heute früh' in der S-Bahn, na eigentlich war es ja ein Wiesel.
Also alle stehen zum Aussteigen in der Landstrasse in zwei Reihen an der Tür.
In der rechten Reihe als zweiter steht ein Blinder. Der ist natürlich etwas langsamer beim Aussteigen.
Also sein Vordermann steigt aus und er tastet sich hinaus. Als der 2 von der linken Reihe nach rechts quer über den Stock des Blinden läuft, und ihn fast zertritt.
Ich mein kann man nicht 2 Sekunden warten bis der vordermann drausen ist und man selber losrennen kann? Alle anderen haben gewartet. Keiner hat sich auf geregt.
Ich glaub der einzige Blinde in dem Zug war nicht der Blinde, sondern der der ihn fast über den Haufen gerannt ist.

P.S.: Eigentlich wollte ich das viel bissiger und wütender formulieren, aller Dings ist es von der Landstrasse bis zu meinem PC, noch ein weiter Weg und und meine Wut schon stark verblasst.

Heute früh hatte ich daheim einen Cat fight.
Nun ja, wenn man mit 8 Frauen zusammen lebt (siehe hier) dann kann das mal vorkommen.
Allerdings haben sich diesmal nicht die Frauen in die Haare bekommen sondern ich ein paar von einer Katze gewischt (mit Krallen). Weil was bild' ich mir überhaupt ein, einer Katze das verklebte Fell mit Wasser zu waschen.
Ich hätte sie ja in Ruhe gelassen wenn sie nicht ihren Durchfall im Fell gehabt hätte und den versucht hätte überall in der Wohnung los zu werden.
Also bin ich schwer verletzt ins Büro gegangen, die Katze halb sauber aber ganz beleidigt auf mich kam kurzerhand auf den Balkon zum Auslüften.
Ich lecke meine Wunden und sie sich das Fell.
Ja, so ist das Leben mit 8 Frauen.

I did not thought that it had grown that wide at all. I think if you have enough criminal energie you could corrupt every technologie that get hyped.

Jetzt bin ich auch Networking-infiziert. Ich glaube so intensiv wie in den letzten 10 Tagen hab ich mich noch nie mit meiner Vergangenheit beschäftigt.
